You find yourself in a dusty and mossy cell in which you can barely breathe in. The standard small barred window in the top center wall is barricaded by rock debris, a single skeletal arm sticking out into the cell.
The only furniture you see is the rusty classical prison bed chained to the wall that you're sitting on, having a torn up pillow on it. Otherwise the toilet is broken and almost looks exploded. There's a singular board screwed high up onto the wall opposite of you, resembling a shelf with a dying candle on it.
Lastly there's also an unusual welcome matt placed inside the cell infront of the heavy rusty metal door... Now that you look at it, the lock is completely rusted shut, the doorframe barely holding.
[[Try to open the door]]
[[Inspect the window]]
[[Inspect the doormatt]]You walk over to the door you previously inspected and begin shaking the door handle... After just a bit of pressure the rusted handle snaps off in your hand. It looks like opening it won't be an option... at least not with the conventional method of turning handles.
[[Inspect the window]]
[[Inspect the doormatt]] As you approach the window, you give the skeletal arm a pull. It falls out of the debris pile, through the bars and onto the floor. A few pebbles replace its position by tumbling down from above where the arm previously was... Maybe it can be of some sort of use?
[[Grab the arm and attempt to pry the door with it]]As you approach the door, you don't really see anywhere where the arm could fit... You remove its hand and proceed to use the thin ulna and radius bones in an attempt to fiddle with the lock, yet it is rusted way beyond turning. You decide to give it a more forcefull approach, placing the ulna bone between the door and the doorframe. You pull hard, yet it quickly snaps, the half you aren't holding flying off somewhere. You inspect the short sharp bone piece in your hand, it snapped into a cross-like shape, almost like a screwdriver... You hold it in your hand as you decide what to do next.
[[Pick the Lock]]
[[Unscrew the bed]]
[[Unscrew the shelf]]As you instantly forget that the lock is unmovable due to its rusty state, you give yourself a slight sigh, disappointed by your forgetfullness.
[[Unscrew the bed]]
[[Unscrew the shelf]] You approach the bed and begin unscrewing the two screws that hold the chains holding the bed against the wall out...The large metallic bed plate crashes to the ground and you start to ask yourself why you wasted time and energy dismantling the bed as you now see no useful parts from it...
[[Unscrew the shelf]]
[[Pick the Lock]] You approach the single board on the wall representing a shelf, taking the candle off of it as you begin to use your makeshift screwdriver bone to screw out the two screws holding it against the wall. The two metallic angles the board was resting on fall to the ground, each time given a few loud metallic clashes. The board soon follows... It was quite thin, long and sturdy, probably a great prying tool.
[[Pry the door again]]With your newly found prying tool you attempt your luck again. You slide it inbetween the old rusty door and frame, luckily enough the door was so old that the gap between door and frame was still quite large, enabling the door to fit. You give it a good pull, your board beginning to crack. Just as you thought it would break, the rusty metal gives in, the entire lock bursting open, rusty iron powder and chunks flying everywhere and the door almost knocks you down, crashing against the wall.
[[Take a breath on relief of my escape... then walk into the hallway]]You grab the dim candle that you previously removed from the shelf. It's not much at all, but at least something. You look in both directions, yet both lead to pitch black darkness...
[[Go left]]
[[Go right]]
[[Go back into cell and wait for a guard]]Having seen countless movies and games you expect to find a tool or key under the matt. As you lift it there's nothing but dust...You wonder why you thought it would be this easy.
[[Inspect the window]]
[[Try to open the door]] You grab ahold of your candle as you decide to go left. After a short bit of walking you reach a few more cells, all of them empty. You decide to keep going until you reach a dark wooden door with metal supports on it. To your surprise it opens, inside you find what seems to be the old prison entrance guarding room. There's a table right beside the door where the guard would sit to allow or deny entry, several shelves, a few chests and most importantly a set up stairs going upwards, a dim light shining down them.
You don't even have control of your legs anymore as they start sprinting towards the stairs by themselves. You are caught off-guard by a quick flash of shining light in your eye coming somewhere from the room however, causing you to stop and look around for it. Something seems to be reflecting light on the desk...
[[Don't waste time and keep going up]]
[[Check it out]]You hold onto the candle as you proceed to go right. After about what feels like years you finally arrive at a set of stairs, leading deeper into whatever Dungeon you are currently in. You take a deep breath, and enter.
As you reach the bottom, your eyes widen in terror as you see what can only be the old guard barracks. It is filled with cobwebs and corpses mummified in webs. There are several ball-like objects strapped to the walls and corners in web, you can only guess that they are eggs... Yet they are absolutely massive, about the size of your head. This couldn't possibly be a spider, could it...?
Your worst nightmare gets confirmed immediatly as an absolutely giant anthropod rappels from the ceilling. It has a brown fur with spiky hairs, two claws on each foot and mean fangs placed beneath its terror inducing red eyes. While you stand there, paralyzed with terror, you panic and quickly decide on what to do
[[Try to fight it off with the fire of my candle]]
As you enter the hallway, you immediatly are filled with guilt. Maybe you're in here for a reason? Maybe you did something horrible and can't remember? You go back, sit on the bed and wait for your trial...
After a few hours of total silence you have enough and get up... No one is going to come, so you put yourself to the choice again...
[[Go left]]
[[Go right]] You take another deep breath as you collect all the courage you can find, dashing forward towards the giant beast, waving your candle into its face multiple times. It screams up in fear, which immediatly surprises you... A screaming insect? Do they even have vocal cords? You decide that your self-thought biology lesson can wait and begin to wave your candle even more.
You almost wet yourself in shock as the weak little flame of the candle simply vanishes from you waving it too hard...You take a gulp, looking at the hissing beast.
As you scream before even turning to run, you hear several footsteps charge at you from behind you. You power your leg muscles to the best of their abilities as you reach the stairs, only to find a sharp pain in your chest. You are frozen in place as you look down, two giant fangs driven right through you. You feel the paralyzing poison kick in even before you fall on the ground. The last thing you see before fainting forever is the creature beginning to spin you around, webbing you up tightly...
[[Restart from checkpoint one]]You grab the dim candle that you previously removed from the shelf. It's not much at all, but at least something. You look in both directions, yet both lead to pitch black darkness...
[[Go left]]
[[Go right]]
[[Go back into cell and wait for a guard]]Your desire for freedom could not bring you to stop for something so unimportant as you storm up the stairs. To your disappointment you see only a locked door infront of you, yet another corridor to your left. Without a fitting key you have no choice but to go left, entering another set of hallways. You wander for what felt like ages, until you are stopped by two blue eyes in the distance, coming closer. You hear faint distorted breathing, rock hard footsteps and a cold breeze coming closer and closer. Soon the mysterious figure reveals itself as a skeletal guard. The creature most likely was stationed here ages ago, yet it remains to wander the halls aimlessly. You quickly understand its kill-on-sight orders as it raises its old spear towards you, slowly stumbling into your direction. You think and...
[[Try to use its slow speed to your advantage by juking it]]
[[Try to avoid the spear and tackle it]]You walk to the desk, only to see a large primitive key on it. You don't know which lock it fits, but you take it anyway as you walk up the stairs. You are met with a corridor on your left and another door infront of you, this one having a pad lock on it. You grab the key you found and insert it into the giant hunk of a padlock. As you turn it it crashes to the ground almost instantly, barely missing your foot. You swing it open with a sigh, only to let it turn into a gasp as you spot the ladder leading waaay up high, ending at some sort of trap door. You drop the candle without care, quickly storming up the ladder. You slowly pinch open the trap door once arrived at the top, only to find a small room, similar to the interior of a cabin. As you see and hear no one around, you open it fully and climb up.
As suspected, you are indeed in a cabin, the windows half broken revealing several pine trees and bushes outside, all furniture either broken or extremely worn along with no source of light except for the daylight.
The door is half broken aswell, so you quickly look around for anything useful. As you find nothing useful for travelling you take a charge at the door, shoulder ramming it clean off, breaking it almost into splinters. You feel a cold breeze hit your face as you find yourself in a pine tree wilderness, having escaped the dungeon. You now embarc on a journey to civilization...You grunt in anger as you see the spear being stabbed towards you. You dash to your left to avoid it, then attempted to swiftly run by it. It barely manages to strave your legs with the old but surprisingly still sharp weapon, causing you to whimp and stumble a bit, but you continue running nonetheless. You soon realize the creatures origin as you enter a visitor room with several civilian and guard-like clothed skeletons scattered around on each side of the visitor tables, yet to your luck none of them seem alive like the other one.. If he even was alive.
Your thought gets interrupted by the echoing breathing coming from closer from the hallway you just exited, so you waste no time and storm out of the visitor area.
Finding yourself in the lobby you can't help but smile, seeing to large half open doors on one wall with a bright light shining through it.
You quickly charge at it, bashing it open to find yourself staring into a cold pine forest, a wooden cabin way in the distance. You pay it no mind as you storm into the wilderness, having escaped the dungeon.
Like that this quest ends, and a new one to find civilization emerges. You grunt in anger as you see the spear being stabbed towards you. You dash to your right to avoid it, then charging down into the chain mail chest of the skeleton. You hurt your elbow and the impact a bit, yet the pretty much run over the weak construction of a body, sending it crashing to the floor. As it takes its time to get back up you grab your candle again, storming off to where it came from. If he even was alive.
